So for those of you who don’t have facebook or live under some kind of boulder- I’m back at home!!! Going to New Zealand alone was one of the scariest and best things I ever did and I had so much crazy fun. I have so many memories and friends from that trip that made it awesome!!

So now it’s back to the ole routine and work…. :|

ok super quick. still alive. still living in a hostel with my friends. still in queenstown! we take walks. we go grocery shopping. we laugh a lot. i’m totally the best cook ever now btw. still amazed that i haven’t dropped dead from the total lack of care i take of myself. missing everyone dearly  of course! working on eating more veggies and less carbs.

Meh, feeling pretty homesick today. Dying to get my passport back asap asap because I’m sick (sshhh..) of Queenstown a little. Last night was mine and Petra’s last ”work for accommadation wednesday” (free food and cheap booze) which got pretty emotional. As in tears. The past 7 and a bit weeks have absolutely flown by for me and they have been the best weeks of New Zealand. I’ve made the best friends and the best *non* memories ;) My official last day is next Tuesday (Thursday today) but I really can’t leave until I get my stupid new passport ugh!

Can’t wait to get back to Canada actually… I know reality will set in quick but it’s hard to think about the annoying things back home when you miss it so much!!

Probably the best thing I’ve ever seen! There is tons of snow on the mountains and none on the ground but it’s so sunny today! I love it!!! But it is also freezing cold unfortunately so my shorts aren’t really cutting it haha… 

Can’t believe almost 4 whole months have passed since I’ve left home!!! Sometimes it feels like ages and other times it feels like no time at all!!

Pretty anxious to keep moving now! I’ve made really good friends with my roommate Petra and I think we’ll probably end up travelling together for a little while after we leave Queenstown! We’ve been debabting looking for another hostel to do work for accommadation in or to look for farm or fruitpicking work….?

Also I’ve been thinking about how comfortable I am here especially since I know people and have made friends- I don’t know how I went so long by myself before!! It was so lonely :(… but I still recommend travelling alone!! because, so often I’ve seen people (especially girls) who were best friends back home but then bicker all the time because they can’t always agree on what they want, and therefore there’s no spontaneity to their travel because they spend excessive amounts of time discussing what their plans are next! (which is exactly what i’m doing now but whatever…!)

Miss everyone and even kenora all the time… especially now that it’s apparently turning to summer so quickly back home!! Don’t you forget about me!!

Hey everyone!!!

Cannot believe how long its been since Ive written. ps pardon the lack of apostraphes i cant find the key on this german computer… haha. anyways, things have been so crazy here! still working in exchange for accommadation and its been 6 weeks already which means they are going to give me the boot in 2 weeks!

not too much changes around here, its a non stop party here every day of the week so im exhausted because even when i dont go out i get woken up by my noisy roomies! but i love them!! lots of birthday parties, leaving parties, festivals, and parties for no reason :P its getting a little ridiculous…

the weather is changing here too! definitely not 35 anymore… id reckon canada is warmer at this point :O

aaand im planning out my leave!!!! i cant wait to leave this bubble!! a couple things left id like to see before i leave!

So through all the shit that’s been happening I haven’t cried at all. But I guess I’ve gotten pretty wound up because today, one of the girls in my room left and she was so nice and she always had amazing band tshirts and awesome taste in music. I even mentioned that I loved Joy Division one time when she was wearing their tshirt. Well we said bye when I was working in the kitchen today and then a couple hours later when I went back to my room and there was a note on my bed that read like this;

“Take a chance and step outside, lose some sleep and say you tried. Meet frustration face to face, a point of view creates more waves.” — “Auto Suggestion, Joy Division” Don’t ever lose your super cute smile Hannah!!”

I frikken burst out crying. I haven’t cried like that since I left home. Not when I lost my passport, not when I was broke, not when the government stole my package. It was the most ridiculous and basically inexplicable occurance but I just felt so happy that someone could do something so thoughtful, it was just the best.

AND THEN I WENT ALL BIPOLAR AND DECIDED TO CUT MY FRINGE AND NOW I LOOK LIKE A COMPLETE MORON AND A HALF.

Kitchen duty, remember? Well today when I was washing dishes I noticed that in the sink the water wasn’t draining at all in any of them but there wasn’t a blockage. So I went to tell my boss. When I went back to the kitchen 30 seconds later, the whole frikken floor was COVERED with grease and old food. The grease trap is what catches old food and grease from blocking the drain and it’s a massive box on the floor. I immediately ran and got towels to clean up the mess… but the SMELL, OMG. I actually almost passed out because it smelled like 18 people died and were left to rot and old bacon grease. wtf wtf wtf… it turns out the grease trap got backed up and started spewing grease all over my beautifully mopped floor. ewewwwwewwwewwwewwwwewwwww holy mother lover. so i had to mop it all up like cinderella.

WASSUP EVERYBODY.

So here we go, I’ve lost my passport and am currently in the process of replacing it which couldn’t BE a bigger pain in the ass. I’ve had to pay for new passport photos which were stupid expensive because Canadians use “custom size” photos. I’ve had to see a lawyer to review and sign all my documents confirming my identity because there’s no one I’ve know for 2 years here. Anddd I almost lost my driver’s license but I found it because I put it in such a safe hiding place I forgot where it was!!

I absolutely love working here. It’s so much fun just working for a few hours a day and then hanging out with everyone for the rest of it :)
